MCCAA began as the Dos Palos Poverty Fighters in 1965. After the signing of the Economic Opportunity Act by President Lyndon B. Johnson, Community Action Agencies led the war on poverty movement, providing services to low-income communities all across the country.

Today, the Community Action movement proudly commemorates over 60 years of this movement that continues to bring hope to families in need. In Merced County, Community Action remains a driving force against poverty through our Agency.

Brenda has been the Executive Director since 2005, rising from the programmatic ranks of the agency. Brenda holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration, and is a certified Community Action Agency professional. 

Major Accomplishments:

Brenda sits on multiple state and local boards, advocating for disadvantaged and low-income residents of Merced County.
