Women Infants and Children (WIC)
To empower low-income women to feed their families healthy and nutritious food.
Guiding and supporting low-income families to promote health through nutrition education, knowledge, and compassion.
• A supplemental nutrition program that helps pregnant women, mothers with infants, and young children eat well, be active, and stay healthy.
• Administered by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
• USDA awards WIC grants to state health departments, who in turn, distributes to local agencies.
• Serves over 15,000 participants per month
• WIC has sites throughout Merced and Mariposa counties

▪ Have children under 5 years old including those care for by a grandparent, foster parent, and dads!
▪ Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or just had a baby.
