Project Cherish - Senior Citizen Lunches

• First started in Merced County in 1972 with a small lunch site located in a church in Atwater, CA
• Project CHERISH grew rapidly and now has 9 senior meal sites throughout Merced County

• Provide noon time meals that are nutritionally balanced for seniors age 60 and over for a requested donation
• Sites open early to provide time for seniors to socialize, enjoy entertainment, and receive nutritional education
• Regular socialization and healthful meal keeps many seniors active and living a much more fulfilled life
• Menus are printed at the beginning of each month, so you can plan around meals you may enjoy
• Meals are provided M-F from 11am to Noon excluding holidays
• Centers are open by 10am. Each site asks that you call the day before to make a reservation if you are interested in eating lunch, so enough food will be available. 

Eligibility:
• Seniors are a minimum age of 60, with a $2.00 per meal donation requested
• Guests are welcomed for a donation of $4.00
• No income requirements
