Message from the Director
I am honored to be the Director of such a dynamic and essential organization in Merced County. With over 15 years of service to the Agency, I have learned first hand that Community action truly makes a difference in the lives of local residents. As the designated Community Action Agency for Merced County, we take our role as a public voice for the poor very seriously. Daily, we strive to make decisions that are based on the needs of our low-income population. With that in mind, I regularly meet with Agency clients to talk about their concerns and pass those stories on to the decision makers throughout Merced County and beyond.
I would like to thank the employees of the Agency and our Board of Directors. The quality of service they provide and their belief in the programs we administer, inspires me. With their knowledge and dedication we have been able to expand services in the wake of deep social service cuts in Federal and State funding allocations. We will continue to expand services to rural, hard to serve communities throughout Merced County.
Merced County will continue to struggle with the plight of the poor. Through the help of the Agency, we will continue to provide much needed services. The Merced County Community Action Agency will play a lead role in making sure the poor continue to have a voice.
Sincerely,
Brenda Callahan-Johnson
