Housing and Homeless Services
To reduce homelessness in Merced County by providing afforable, appropriate housing.
To provide services to the homeless of Merced County, that will ease their discomfort and help them help themselves.
With State and Federal Grants and the generosity of the community, CAA has been addressing the needs of the homeless since 1987. In 1987, MCCAP began helping families with Homeless Services including Housing, Shelters, and Homeless prevention.
We offer:
• Year round emergency shelter
• Shelters are open 365 days per year from 4:00 pm to 7:00 am.
• Shelters provide beds, meals and showers.
• Homeless Prevention Funds
• offered in the form of a one-time cash payment to place the homeless in permanent housing or
to maintain current housing
• Program is available on an on going basis until all funds are spent from the funding grant
• All programs are designed to be a temporary fix to alleviate the discomforts associated with homelessness, while attempting to place the customers in permanent, long-term housing.
